Education is the key to success. Education is a kind of wealth that cannot be removed or transfer to anyone. It is a lifetime wealth that is permanent. That is why we study five times in a week usually. We do this to learn, to study lessons, to socialize and to reach our dream.
Hi there! My name is Reymarc Jason Tumbagahan Tampos. I’m 16 years old. From Poblacion, Tangalan, Aklan. I am a Senior High School student. I currently study at Tangalan National High School. I am taking the General Academic Strand in the Academic Track. My life as a Senior High School student is full of new expectations and explorations. Since that I belong to the first batch of the Senior High School then I need to adjust. I take the General Academic Strand because I am not yet decided for what course I will take in college and what course will fit to me. First day of Senior High School is exciting. But I admit that I felt nervous because I haven’t an idea if what will I do and what will happen. I had new subjects, new classmates, new challenges, and new lessons and ideas. I know that many of my fellow Senior High School students are thinking why is it that we need to study two more years? Well, that is my first question when I heard about Senior High School. So I search for a solution to answer my question. I research about Senior High School and I got some answers from the government. Senior High School must be implemented in our country it is because Philippines are one of the three countries worldwide who didn’t have Senior High School. In the other countries, you must have 12-year basic education curriculum before you can work as a professional. So if you’re a Filipino and you apply as a teacher in the other country then you must study for two more years before you considered as a professional. It means that you need to qualify the international education standards to compete globally. So as a solution, our government implemented the Senior High School as a law for us to become more competitive. The implementation of the K-12 in the Philippines is the key to our nation’s development. We will have all of these if the implementation of the K-12 will be very successful; sufficient instructional time, more skilled and competent labor force and recognition as professionals abroad. As a Senior High School learner, each day is exciting to me. But I admit that being a student is not easy. Here is my daily routine as a Senior High School learner. I get up at six o’clock in the morning. Then I fix my bed. After I relaxed my body in a short time, I eat my breakfast and drink a coffee. Next, I take a bath, brush my teeth, get my clothes and get changed. I go to school with my service usually at 6:40 then arrived at school at 6:45 am. I attend a flag ceremony every Mondays at 7:15. Our regular class starts at 7:30. We have two periods before the break time at 9:30 to 9:45. But usually I didn’t eat or buy a snacked, because I can be comfortable without a snacked so I just keep my money and saved it. I eat my lunch at 12:00 noon, take a rest and go back to school at 1:45 pm. We have eight periods, but it depends if we have a vacant time or no. Our last period ends at 5:00 pm. After I reach home, I take off my clothes and get changed. I take a rest and open my facebook account or surf the internet. I do this to relax my mind and also myself. After that, I do my assignments if there is or review my notes and books if there are quizzes or examinations. I eat my dinner at 7:00 pm. After I take a rest, I wash dishes, fetch water and go to sleep at 10:00 pm.
