Equality for Pregnant Students
Introduction

Teenage pregnancy is a situation, which involves female adolescents. A teenage female can be pregnant as early as age of twelve or thirteen, although it is usually fourteen and older. The fact that teenagers became pregnant is related to many factors. These are related to specific situation of the teenager and the group that she interacts with. The rates of teenage pregnancies varies from country to country and are related to differences of sexual activities, the general sex education being provided and contraceptives being available.

A study says teen pregnancies in the Philippines may deprive the country of the faster economic growth. The UN Population Fund says the Philippines is the only country in the Asia Pacific region where the rate of teenage pregnancies rose over the last two decades. UNFPA country representative Klaus beck said that Filipino girls aged 15 to 19 make up 10 percent of the population of the 100 million, and one out of ten of them have already given birth; this is according to their study conducted this year 2016.

As the number of teenage pregnancy increases, also the number of dropout in school rises. Pregnant students should be accepted in school because all people have the right to study, for the students to finish their study and to reach their dreams.

Summary of Counter claims

In every issue, there is always an anti. There are people that they did not want pregnant students to go back in school and finish their studies. They cited different reasons why is it that they disagree. Their first reason is pregnant students cannot focus anymore on their studies so it is useless. Second is pregnant students are destructing the image of the school. Third is they can be a bad influence to the other students or schoolmates. Fourth is they can be bullied in school due to their condition and fifth is they are not good example as a student in school.

Arguments

Pregnant students should be accepted in school. Why? To all the people or a group that is against in my stand, I have a question to all of you. If pregnant students should not accept in school, what are you plan for them to reach their dreams? You must support her child.  Education is the only key to success in life. How they can be successful in the future, if you will not give their right to study? Students should finish their study. Education Act of 1982 states that students should receive a good quality of education in line with national goals and conducive to their full development as person with human dignity.

If a student wants to go to school it, means that he/she is willing to focus on his/her study. Image of the school cannot be destruct by pregnant students; it is more likely destructive if the school increases its number of dropouts. Students whose changed and become successful is more inspiring than other students are. Eventhough she is pregnant, she finished her study and never stops until she reached her dreams. More inspiring right?

Pregnant students should not be bullied because there is a law protecting them. The Magna Carta of Women also known as Republic Act No. 9710. A comprehensive women’s human rights law that seeks to eliminate discrimination against women. And remember that most of the pregnant teens are minors. Last August 4, 2016, the Department of Education Secretary Leonor Briones has urged schools to stop its policy of kicking out pregnant students. “Students should be treated humanely. Pregnancy is not a sin of one as two parties are involved. It is not necessarily a sign of immorality. There are more immoral acts than getting pregnant at 17 years old,” she said.

Conclusion

Teenage pregnancy is one of the problems in our community. In order for all pregnant students to reach their dreams, let them study and improve their self. Since that they already committed mistake, we must show to them that it is not too late to make change. Sex education should be implemented well. In addition, to the parents, educate you child. Do not let their curiosity overlap, motivate them, love them and show your care. Because when all parents supports and educate their child, teenage pregnancy will be stopped.
